Slowly falling leaves, a beautiful yellow in the fall
Brought me to you
The fading best of the summer that was disappearing
Hid me in your arms

And then it was dark, deep and a heavy, dull winter
When I craved for you and needed you
But you were gone
You needed to get back to worldly responsibilities

That winter was despair
I thought I lost you
It was a season of pain and death
But I lost not hope

And slowly things changed
The winter made way for droplets of sunshine
I knew it would bring you back
Back into me

Spring made us fall in love again
The little green leaves on the trees
The flower buds bloomed
And you were there, with me, grasping my hand, holding me tight

I loved you back again
It wasn’t a fantasy anymore
That spring morning when we kissed again, after the winter
I knew it was here to stay

I don’t know about forever
And maybe we will go back and forth
And maybe it will be winter sometimes
Death can claim us again

But summer approaches now
I lie in wait for you
Your breath caresses me
Your fragrance cascading into mine

It’s the season of love
